More Meaningful

For parents whose beliefs are more ethical than religious, a humanist ceremony offers an opportunity for them to choose language which more accurately reflects the values they wish to pass on their child. They may also find that any non-religious guide parents might find uniquely worded personal promises more relevant (and easier to keep in the future) than a more vague requirement, for example, to “reject the devil” in a church ceremony. That said, as humanist ceremonies are above all inclusive ceremonies, there can be opportunities to acknowledge respect for those present who do hold strong religious beliefs.

More Memorable

A hallmark of all humanist ceremonies is being able to shape the content of the ceremony to ensure that it will be enjoyable and significant for every person present. There are so many wonderful stories to share when a new arrival becomes part of the family and I relish telling them. Also, there are no restrictions for where we can hold your ceremony: in your back garden, upstairs room of a pub, a beautiful hilltop…all are possible!

Not Just New Babies!

There are lots of reasons why a family might wait until a child is older to celebrate their naming day and there are no age limits for a humanist ceremony. In addition, some parents might wish to hold a naming for more than one of their children on the same occasion- not a problem!

Post-Adoption Naming Ceremonies

As an adoptive parent myself, I have a particular interest in this type of naming ceremony which can require a slightly different approach in some circumstances.

If this sounds like the kind of original naming ceremony you were hoping for, please get in touch to arrange an online chat (no obligation). The fee for meetings, an original script and delivery on the day is £255 (plus travel if out of my area).

I’m already looking forward to meeting the newest member of your family!
